WhiteTie understands that privacy is important to its users. We provide this document to explain how that information is collected and how it is used. By visiting WhiteTie.com, you are accepting the practices described below in this Privacy Policy.

Information Collected:
Some features of the WhiteTie.com site collect and use information from the user:

Membership Sign-up:
Information is gathered so that the user can obtain a membership, whether it is paid or free. Information such as Name, Password, Address, and Preferences, among others, is collected and stored in our database.

Member Login:
If you are a member (Free/Paid), then some information is required to login to access the membership areas.

Newsletter:
An email address is required to sign-up for the newsletter.

Polls:
Some information is gathered when participating in the polls. The information collected includes the user's vote and the user's IP address to prevent duplicate voting.

Online Forms:
The WhiteTie.com site has in various places other types of forms for users to voluntarily submit questions or information to the WhiteTie staff.

What we do with the information collected:

Membership Sign-up:
This information is needed to create a new membership for the user. Some information is shared with the credit card processing company to bill for the premium membership if the user signs up for a premium membership. All other information is not shared with any other 3rd party companies except as noted.  Personal information is stored on our servers so that we may have a reference for membership privileges. We may also use this information to contact members to notify them when their premium membership is about to expire. Your membership number and name along with some voluntary user preferences are shared with our vendors so they may validate WhiteTie membership and view user preferences that users define as viewable by them. We do not give addresses, phone numbers or other personal information to vendors or other third party companies that is not voluntarily approved by the user to be given out such as when making restaurant reservations.

Member Login:
We use this information to verify the validity of a user account. Once verified, the user may access the members-only site features for that session. A browser cookie will be set so that the user maintains his/her membership privileges while browsing the site during a session. After closing the browser, the session is over and upon the next visit the user may then have to log-in again to access members-only site features.

Newsletter:
This information is used by WhiteTie to send WhiteTie Newsletters via email. This information is not shared with third party or vendor companies and is used only to provide this ongoing email communication.

Polls:
This information is used to gather data provided by users. IPs are tracked so that site visitors may not vote more then one time per poll. Poll answers may be shared with third party companies and partners. IP addresses are not shared with third party or vendor companies.

Online Forms:
Various other online forms may exist on the WhiteTie site that allow users to submit questions or other information to the WhiteTie staff. This information is not shared with third party or vendor companies unless explicitly presented that it will be shared.

Children:
WhiteTie does not sell memberships to children, nor do we provide services for children. If you are under 18, you may use WhiteTie's website only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian.

Privacy Policy Changes:
It may be necessary from time to time for us to modify this privacy statement to reflect changes in the way we collect and use information or changes in privacy-related laws, regulations, and industry standards. Accordingly, we reserve the right to change this privacy statement at any time, without notice to you, by posting the revised policy on this Web site. Information will be handled according to the privacy statement in effect at the time the information is used. Your continued use of this WhiteTie site following the posting of changes to these terms will mean you accept those changes.
